Pumpkin Wands

In honor of Halloween, I have designed a pumpkin wand with a matching pumpkin stand. I'm so pleased to say that this wand and stand are 100% original design from me. Usually I look at pictures and gather ideas and inspiration, but not on this one.
The wand sits in the stand perfectly. The stand is tiny and has a pumpkin patch kind of feel to it. Lots of curly vines, tiny pumpkins, and a pumpkin leaf.
I made a lot of these wands since I like them so much, so I will be selling them in different ways. One with the stand, 4 with boxes as you see in the picture below, and 4 just wands. Hopefully the price range will fit many people :).
The wand box features a brown bottom with orange ribbon interior. The top is orange with brown shading and a hand drawn pumpkin. I wanted the drawing to look like one of those old line art style drawings, I think I got close :).
The wand itself is made to look like the shaft is carved wood with some shading to get it nice and spooky looking. Then the hilt is greens and oranges with the pumpkin topper.
These will all be in my Etsy shop very soon. And I have so many more wand ideas now, this style opens up so much!

Dark and Spooky

My lovely new friend Phylis that I have been having a wonderful chat with has just boosted us up to 95.... only 5 more followers to my giveaway! Welcome all of you, hope you like my minis. Time is flying! I better start making the giveaway item, (Hint - it is considered furniture).
---------------------------------
Well I'm sure you will see the following items in the future in one of our blogging buddies posts, but I love to show what I've been working on.

Some black candles, no labels this time.

Some dripping candles. I still can't get the lighting right to show the drips, too ugly when the lighting is dark and too shiny when it's bright - and the wax color doesn't help :).

Some maps, they're so tiny but maybe someone will recognise what it is a map of :). When I was about to make these, I had to ask my customer if she wanted them to have clean edges or burned, she decided on clean but then I was too curious to see them with burned edges so I made a batch of each! Hope she doesn't mind the extras :).

Some skulls. Love these guys, they have that grin that just gets ya!

And then some skull and bone sets.
I have extra skulls, I'll throw them on Etsy tomorrow (that might mean late evening today to my friends across the pond).

And then there's pumpkins, saved my favorite for last :). The bigger pumpkins are half the size of my usual pumpkins, they are meant to sit on tables and such whereas my usuals are pumpkin patch size (normal size). And then the little ones in front are really tiny for tucking into spots that need a little something. I had one of the little ones laying around for months and when I made the big ones I decided to make more of the tiny ones just because. They're not much but I hope she can make use of the extras! :)

That's it for today!

Look what I got!

Before we start, I see that I now have 92 followers... welcome everyone! Only 8 more to a giveaway! Like I said before, it will be a new design, something I have been looking forward to making for a while, (Hint - it's not a trunk).
---------------------------------
Now I have to show everyone what I received in the mail, it's absolutely wonderful! I had the great priviledge of swapping stuff with the extremely talented Jamie Moore of Creepy Creations by Jamie Moore. I have been a huge fan of hers since I first came accross her blog, I just love her style! And I am a huge Halloween freak, (we decorate our house in August and then come up with all the reasons we can about why we shouldn't take it down and just be that weird creepy house on the block year round :) ).

Well I sent her some stuff that was (in my view) not worthy of this perfect little gift I received in return. And I can't stop looking at it,  it's so awesome! Check it out:
Isn't it just the best!!!
Thank you Jamie!

Please go check out Jamie's blog, and for pumpkin's sake buy something cuz she makes the best halloween decor that I have seen!

What I've been working on... well some of it anyway :)

Before I say anything, let me say that these pictures are not so great. Lighting is bad and I didn't have time to get artificial light set up. I'm sooo busy! And I'm so sorry! Not only have I taken such a long time since my last post, but now I give you crappy pictures... it's a wonder I still have followers! XD

I've been working on some more charms, those bracelets I showed you before. They are my steady income right now but they are so time consuming. I've been running behind on everything else because of them. So... Kate and Emily, thanks for being so patient!

The pictures I have here are part of a package that will be going to Kate of The Whittaker's Miniatures and her daughter Emily of Emily Claire Fashions. Kate wanted plain pumpkins and pumpkins with faces, I just loved making the faces!

They both wanted skulls, Emily wanted a skull inkwell like on the Merlin show. I loved the idea so much that I cut the top off another skull and stuck some scrolls in there. Hope you girls like it! I'm also providing an assortment of feathers for quills. The white one in the skull has a pen attachment with a gold nib. You can kind of see it better in the picture after this one, kind of. When I was making the skull inkwell I was experimenting with the size and molded a small skull that I'm sending some casts of, I think I remember Kate and Lola getting inventive with skulls and books :).

Kate wanted some tombstones for a project she's working on, she picked some of my favorites. Again, sorry the lighting is so bad. It makes the colors look all wrong :(. They are actually gray and black, looks like a cement or stone finish. And Kate wanted the tree, I love that tree!

I still have quite a few things to finish up for them, it's about 9am here so I plan to spend the day working on it all. The best part about this all is that I get to make things I love, and send them to great people that I know will love them, and it gets me away from those darn bracelets for a while! XD

I've had my daughter Marie working on something special for Kate's other daughter Lola of Princess Lola's Miniature Diary, it's going to be quite lovely! Can't wait to show it!

Ladies, I'll have your package sent off this week, I promise!

More Halloween Goodies and some free stuff...

Some more Halloween items I found from years ago... a couple of decorative pumpkins.

And a big clearance of items, these are quite literally the first things my kids and I made when we got our first blocks of polymer clay. I'm going to list this whole lot on Etsy for a really low price since it's not the same quality work that I can do now. I'd give it away but it's just sooo much stuff I can't bear it.

And these are some trial and error books I made when I was trying to make the right type of book for the wiccan altar table. Does anyone want these? The black one has bits of gold dust all over it (by accident) and some of the black paint got onto the pages (see picture 2). The other book has a thin crack on the back near the spine (see picture 3) and I just don't like the color. I'll gladly send these to anyone that would like them. Just email me your address: Lorraine@DflyCreations.net

Halloween or Graveyard items from long ago...

I've been cleaning out some things and found a lot of left over Halloween miniatures from a couple of years ago. They're mostly things for decorating a graveyard scene or something spooky like that.
I think my pumpkins turned out pretty good!

These candles are large because I intended for them to decorate a graveyard, sitting in front of and around tombstones.

(the white stuff on their feet is just putty to hold them in place for the photo)

It's a bit funny to look back and see how my previous work holds up to my newer work. Some things are slightly off scale and I can see that I learned a lot since then about structure of items and attaching pieces together securely.

Second attempt at a cat in my mini life... maybe next time I'll get it right :)

This coffin is my favorite, I'll be making more of these!

Some long stemmed roses for paying respects to the dead. Or anything else really, they're actually quite pretty!

I made some skulls a while back, then molded them, then cast a bunch. These are some vampire skulls I cast from the molds, their lower jaws didn't make it through the process... I was/am still learning :).

I'll be listing this and more stuff on Etsy tonight and tomorrow. I have multiples of everything and I've also got some bats, brooms, shovels, and a scythe.

I also found a lot of left over Christmas items hidden away. I'll be looking through those and maybe listing some things next week.

Easter Baskets with Bunnies

I made a couple of these last year and never finished the rest... Not too late for Easter is it?

I took a store bought basket, sculpted on one of my handmade, pearl dusted polymer clay ribbons, and added synthetic grass and hand painted polymer clay eggs. For the bunny, I took a store bought plastic bunny, cleaned up and sanded the lines, painted it and attached it to the basket.

I have 11 total, and one more without a bunny. Each one has a different bunny on it. I have some listed on Etsy and the rest will be on my website.
